CPR
has assessed programs to promote self sufficiency among public assistance
recipients including strengthening the incentives to work, conducting training
programs for various types of work including family child care workers and Home
Health Aides, and programs that offer assistance with job readiness training,
motivational counseling and job placement. CPR has also conducted assessments of
the legal needs of the poor and the effectiveness of using telephone Hotlines to
provide brief legal advice and referrals to low-income people.
